Former President Donald Trump has once again put President Joe Biden in the spotlight, challenging him to a rematch debate and a charity golf match.
Trump proclaimed the challenge at a rally in Doral, Florida where he addressed a crowd of fervent supporters.
“So tonight I’m officially offering Joe the chance to redeem himself in front of the entire world. Let’s do another debate this week so that Sleepy Joe Biden can prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president but this time it will man-to-man, no moderators, no holds barred. Just name the place, anytime, anywhere,” Trump told the audience.
The former President capitalized on Biden’s performance in the debate, and challenged Biden to an 18-hole gold match.
“And in the debate, Sleepy Joe also declared that he wanted to test his skills and stamina against mine on the golf course. That’s why this evening I am also … challenging Crooked Joe to an 18-hole golf match right here on Doral’s Blue Monster — considered one of the greatest tournament golf courses anywhere in the world, one of the great courses of the world,” Trump added.
Trump raised the stakes by offering up $1 million, “…And if he wins I will give the charity of his choice — any charity that wants — $1 million.”
While reiterating his dominance in the previous debate and flaunting his vitality, Trump did not miss the chance to stir speculations about his running mate choice. Although he praised Senator Marco Rubio, Trump kept his supporters guessing.
The Biden campaign’s response was dismissive, framing Trump’s challenges as mere distractions from Biden’s presidential duties. Spokesman James Singer labeled Trump’s actions as characteristic antics that do not merit serious consideration.
Trump also introduced a personal element to the rally, spotlighting his youngest son, Barron, who received a warm welcome from the crowd. This appearance could signal a growing role for Barron in Trump’s public engagements.
This latest challenge from Trump aims to energize his base and attempts to put Biden on the defensive.
