Sandra Bullock had a huge night last night at the 40th People’s Choice Awards. The stunning actress swept the awards show, coming away with a four trophies to kickstart an awards season that sees her the favorite to win a Best Actress at the Oscars this year.
According to CBC News, “the actress was named favorite movie actress, comedic actress, dramatic actress and shared the favorite movie duo award with Gravity co-star George Clooney. Bullock’s buddy comedy, The Heat, co-starring Melissa McCarthy, was awarded favorite comedic movie.”
“As a young girl growing up in New Orleans, if anyone would have told me I was going to win 14 People’s Choice Awards I… I mean 12, yes. Thirteen, maybe. But 14?” joked [Ellen] DeGeneres, host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, who said that she wanted to make the show for everyone from old, young, black, white, gay and straight.
The talented Bullock will now make her way through the rest of the award season and finish up at the 2014 Academy Awards, where she will hope to be named Best Actress for Gravity.
